K-BOMB FAQ's:
Is K-Bomb only for the Korean lash lift method?
No, this formula can be used safely and effectively in Korean lash lifts, traditional lash lifts and brow lamination. K-Bomb is particularly good for brow laminations as it reduces redness on the skin, as it's so gentle.
How long do the results last?
8-10 weeks, on following aftercare, lashes and brows will remain healthy and grow out naturally. It is not recommended to treat the lashes or brows any sooner than 6 weeks, but 8 weeks for optimum results, allowing the original lash lift or brow lamination to grow out.
Should I patch test my client?
Yes, this is a brand new formula. Apply a small amount of step 1 (mixed with powder if you are using it), step 2, step 3 and bonder or balm to the inner arm, remove after 15 minutes with a damp cotton pad, and observe over 48 hours. Remember to patch test tint on the opposite arm if you will be adding an optional colour boost.
Is K-Bomb safe for sensitive clients?
Yes, our cysteamine-based formula is gentle and can be used on sensitive clients if the patch test is performed and no adverse reactions occurs.
Do I need to use powder with K-Bomb
No, this is an extra product that can be included in treatment, particularly for the Korean lash lift method, if you are relaxing/reducing the hair onto the flat shield, as opposed to down on the pad. The powder thickens the formula into a tacky paste to help with lifting the lashes up during the relaxation process.
How much Glue Powder is required?
This is a personal preference, however too much can slow the process by acting as a barrier. Or recommended powder/step 1 ratios are as follows:
Fine Lashes 80:20
Normal Lashes 70:30
Thick Lashes 60:40
What is the active ingredient?
Cysteamine Hydrochloride - A decarboxylated derivative of cysteine. Cysteine is an important amino acid that makes up 10-18% of the keratin protein structure, and it breaks down disulphide bonds whilst encouraging protein regeneration.
What are copper peptides?
Our formula includes Copper Tripeptide, which is 3 Amino Acids (Glycine, Histidine & Lysine) + Copper. An antioxidant ingredient that promotes hair growth by extending the anagen hair growth stage, increasing hair longevity. It also acts as a signalling peptide by sending reparative signals to proteins, removing damaged proteins, supporting and stimulating collagen, elastin & glycosaminoglycans (e.g., hyaluronic acid), and providing skin-smoothing benefits.
Are the processing times longer than Lash Bomb?
Yes, all cysteamine-based lifting solutions take longer than a TGA-based solution to relax the hair, and the time varies depending on the density of the hair being treated.
Can K-Bomb over process the lashes/brows?
Yes, all chemicals used for lash lifting or brow lamination can cause over-processing, however it is much less likely when using a cysteamine-based lifting solution due to its gentle characteristics. The key is to educate on how to identify when the hair is processed
What shields are best for use with the K-Bomb?
For traditional lash lift, refer to our shield guide. For Korean lash lift, we recommend our newest shields (Cloud, Crown or Forma coming soon), 'M' lifters or for shorter lashes, the larger sizes of Ultimate Curlers can be used.
Does the room temperature affect the processing times?
Yes, the warmer the room is, the faster it will process; the cooler the room i,s the slower it will process
Are tint timings the same when used alongside K-Bomb?
Like with Lash & Brow Bomb, tint timings should be reduced when used alongside K-Bomb. Tint doesn't need so long to process post relaxation due to the cuticle layer being opened, this allows the tint penetrates the quicker where the oxidisation process happens, achieving a deep dark result.
