While shields are best suited for tighter lids, rods are a good alternative for more mature eyelids. Shields produce a straighter curl whereas rods produce a tighter, C-shaped curl, which would benefit clients with shorter lashes.
To use, take a micro-applicator to apply a thin coat of bonder to the back of the rod to keep it in the correct position on the lid. Place the rod as close to the root as possible, making sure no lashes are caught underneath.
Sizing tip! Lashes should reach the ¾ mark of the rod and if they exceed this point, size up. If they don’t reach the ¾ mark, size down. Rods can be trimmed to fit the eye.
